- Description:
- The scope of the Project concerns the repair and upgrade of the existing facilities of the Euzones Border Crossing Point. The specific project is located in the Region of Central Macedonia, on the border with North Macedonia, in the Regional Kilkis section. During the maturation stage of the Project, it is sought to upgrade the existing facilities of the Border Crossing Point of Euzones of the P.E. Kilkis, in accordance with the commitments of the country as well as with the requirements of the agencies that operate at the Crossing Point in question. The above framework is expected to include, in particular, the architectural and energy upgrade of existing facilities and infrastructure, the traffic upgrade of the road network with rezoning activities, as well as ensuring the necessary conditions for substantial improvement of the passport, customs, phytosanitary and veterinary control services provided, with the aim of highlighting and adopting corresponding good practices ("best practices"), taking into account the existing limitations and commitments regarding the extent of permitted interventions at the specific point. The above upgrade will also contribute to our country's compliance with the relevant EU regulations regulating the cross-border transport of persons and goods, such as, for example, the Schengen System Regulations (EU Regulation 2016/399), the Entry-Exit System (EES) (EU Regulation 2017/2226), the ETI System...
