Description:
The present study concerns the Lifeguard Coverage Service of the Municipality of Northern Corfu, during the months IOYNIO - SEPTEMBER, for the year 2025, which have been designated as busy bath facilities under no. 2131.16/5645/2024 document of the Central Port AuthorityCorfu to determine and characterize the busy coastal areas of the island of Corfu. The above requires the surveillance of the busy coastal areas of the Municipality of North Corfu by lifeguards in the context of the existing regulatory framework. The study takes into account theProvisions of the PD 31/2018 (Government Gazette 61/TA΄/04-04-2018), PD 71/2020 (Government Gazette 166/A/2020) as well as 2131.16/5645/2024 document of the Central Port Authority of Corfu. It is noted that PD 71/2020 stipulates that the lifesaving coverage of busy beaches is mandatory during the months of June,July, August & September. Esperion, two (2) lifeguard positions,
b) Roda, DE Thinals, two (2) lifeguards
c) Saint Stefanos Avliotis, two (2) positionslifeguard
d) Acharavi, DE Thinalia, three (3) lifeguard positions,
e) Saint George Pagas, DE St. Georgiou, three (3) lifeguards,
ie a total of twelve (12) pedestals on the above 5 busy beaches.
