The study concerns the anti-flood protection of the Municipality of Athens, through the adequacy control of the existing network, the extension of the rainwater network to roads where it does not exist, the creation of rainwater retention-collection tanks, with cyclic rainwater management, with the aim of increasing the flow time of rainfall within the urban fabric and the utilization of rainwater within the Municipality, while at the same time
explore the necessary transformations for rainwater management through blue infrastructure, circularly, within the city

In summary, these studies concern the drainage of an area of 1,900 ha (hectares) of the Municipality, the adequacy control of of the existing storm water drainage network, in solving the already recorded flooding problems of the Municipality, where this is possible, and in the investigation - implementation of retention tanks - rain collection for reuse with circular management.
