- The implementation of the project concerns the creation of three metropolitan quantum infrastructure networks in Athens, Thessaloniki and Heraklion, Crete, which will be connected to three optical ground stations in Helmos (Peloponnisos), Holomonta (Halkidiki, Thessaloniki) and Skinaka (Heraklion, Crete). The network infrastructuresthese will utilize, among others, quantum technology devices (QKD), terrestrial optical fibers, but also satellite technologies.
The creation of this network, in combination with other initiatives, will create a secure network for both terrestrial and satellite communications, eensuring optimal security for both government services and the private sector.
