- This public project contract concerns the large-scale execution of main maintenance and reconstruction works of the asphalt traffic layer of the road surface in the road network of the 7 Municipal Communities of the Municipality of Athens, which either due to natural wear and tear (aging of materials, weather conditions, fatigue of materials from traffic) or from bad techniques of previous interventions (O.K.O. etc.) has become non-functional and in several places even dangerous for the safe passage of pedestrians and all kinds of vehicles.
The works include milling the existing asphalt pavement according to the orders of the supervisor up to the required level, laying a leveling layer if required, bituminous adhesive application and coating of a 5 cm urban road traffic bituminous layer, or an anti-slip bituminous layer of dense composition with common bitumen, concentrated 4 cm thick, as long as the adequacy of the bearing capacity of the underlying pavement and the smoothness of its surface allows it, as well as total reconstruction of the pavement, where required. It is also provided for the adjustment of all types of water collection wells and eschars with the final level, the length slope and inclination of the road deck, the restoration and renewal of the horizontal marking (striping), as well as the cleaning of the adjacent rainwater collection wells of the roads to be maintained.
