Description:
The purpose of the study Operational plan of anti-flood projects for a part of the Pinios Eastern Plain of Thessaly, tributaries and the Karla area is to properly and fully deal with the problem of risking floods and disasters in the wider area of Larissa and the area of Karlas.
The study will be in full compliance with the Greek and Community Legislation on flood risk management and the relevant PRS and is essentially an implementation of the measure in the under-approval SDCP EL_08_35_02 Integrated Planning of flood protection projects (Master Plan). The study will expands and will deepen the under approval 1st Revision of the Flood Risk Management Plan of the River Basins of the Water Division of Thessaly and especially for the area of P. Pinios in the Eastern Plain of Thessaly and Karla so that:
• To be clear and complete picture of the current situation and the problems that exist in relation to flood protection.
• Formulate proposals for the additional projects and interventions required for satisfactory anti-flood protection.
• To establish the required planning and priorities of the studies and construction of projects, based on technical, economic, social and environmental criteria.
It is noted that the measures to be taken should be harmonized with the rest of the infrastructure, development and regeneration projects of each area.
