Description:
The project concerns the expansion and modernization of the Archaeological Museum of Chios, the assignment of which will be made in accordance with Law 4412/2016 as amended and in force.
Extension and Modernization of the Archaeological Museum of Chios
The building complex of the Archaeological Museum of Chios is part ofplot, even and buildable with an area of 8,428.46 sq.m. which is located at "MEZARIA" and on Michalo and Museum streets of the city of the Municipality of Chios. It was built and completed in 1969, according to the study of the architects Suzana Antonakaki, Dimitris Antonakaki and Eleni Desyllas, withthe awarding of the 1st Prize in the corresponding Panhellenic Architectural Competition of 1965. The existing building complex consists of buildings I-II-III-IIIa-IV-V-VI-VII and is developed on three main levels.
After approximately sixty (60) years of operation, it is evident in the buildingsthe aging problems of the filling/covering materials (masonry - insulation - frames, etc.) and mainly of its supporting body, as well as the inadequacy of the E/M facilities taking into account the current operating and safety regulations. In addition, due to the strong altitude diconcern, the Museum is not accessible to the disabled according to the applicable specifications.
The physical object of the project concerns the restoration of the existing building complex of the Museum (buildings I-II-III-IIIa-IV-V-VI-VII), area 2,609 sq.m., in the upgrade of the existing structural system...
